The Center for Rural Economy Development (CRED) is a non-profit organization specializing in implementing poverty reduction programs and increasing the participation of disadvantaged groups including the poor, women, youth and ethnic group minorities into the process of sustainable development and economic growth. CRED is a pioneering organization that applies the method of developing market systems and connecting the community with businesses and high-quality service providers to promote sustainable production practices and enhance capacity. ready for export by small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

CRED is currently implementing the Regional BioTrade Project – Phase II in Vietnam, which aims to improve the competitiveness of businesses in international markets through the implementation of 4 main components covering trade promotion, business process improvement, sustainable supply chain development, and communication and policy advocacy.

Sustainable agriculture to ensure biodiversity is currently an important long-term goal to help companies develop sustainably and provide livelihoods for farming households. Recognising this, many companies and farmers have made efforts to change practices, improve processes and test models to find the ideal intercropping model for different industries, including the coconut industry. However, the main difficulty and challenge for companies and farmers is that they do not have enough resources in terms of expertise, experience and scientific basis to build their own models, or there are no standard models available to learn and apply. To solve the problem in a scientific and practical way, it is necessary to develop a standard model for intercropping coconut trees with other trees in a sustainable and biodiverse way, with long-term cooperation between companies and local farmers. This activity requires consultants with the expertise and experience to ensure that the model is representative, well written, scientific and feasible
