Consulting and training on Business and Marketing Planning skills for cooperatives

Introduce

Center for Rural Economy Development (CRED) is a registered unit under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), established in 2014. The main activities of CRED include: 

• Build and implement development projects;
• Provide scientific and technical services in the fields of: Water, Environment, Climate Change, Rural Development, Livelihood Development and Sustainable Agriculture, Forest Development and Protection, Trade Biology, etc… in Vietnam and the countries of the Mekong sub-region;
• Train for farmers and businesses on production standards such as Organic Organic), GACP-WHO, Biological Trade (BioTrade); develop an internal management system (ICS) and prepare for the inspection and certification.

CRED is currently implementing the project: “Banana yarn – Economic opportunity – Solution for the environment” with financial support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the German organization Helvetas. CRED will provide financial support to 3 cooperatives in 3 provinces of Lao Cai, Son La, and Phu Tho so that these cooperatives can apply technology to produce banana fibers, handicrafts, and bio-fertilizers from banana stems. the fruit is harvested. CRED needs to recruit a consultant to perform the task of training Business and Marketing Planning skills for cooperatives in the project area.

Specific duties

1. Compiling documents on Business and Marketing Planning skills for cooperatives including the following main contents:

• Market research
• SWOT analysis
• Develop business goals
• Marketing Strategy
• Customer access
• Business Planning

2. Organized each province 2 days training courses for 60 farmers in the project area of 3 provinces of Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Son La; 

3. Follow-up after training and direct coaching for cooperatives for detail Business and Marketing Planning,  in each province 4 days;

4. A report on the results of 3 training courses in 3 provinces and direct counseling for cooperatives.

Time and Place

From 5/9/2023 to 15/10/2023 in Ha Noi and project areas

Expected Outputs

• A document material containing all technical contents mentioned in item 1 that be presented in brief, concise, easy-to-understand with clearing illustrated pictures and not over 40 pages A4;
• 03 drafts of detail Business and Marketing Planning of 03 cooperatives;
• Consultancy report in training, follow-up and coaching.

Professional requirements and experience

• University graduate or higher majoring in horticulture with at least 10 years of experience;
• Experience in training for cooperatives and farmers;
• Experience in technical document writing and editing.
